Ralph H. Ward, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer
Ralph joined Scott Builders in 1986 as President. Prior to that, he had 22 years with Butler Manufacturing Co., the leading manufacturer of metal building systems and components, in their Canadian and U.K. operations. His most recent position with Butler was as Vice President and General Manager, Western Region, Edmonton. He served on both the Canadian and U.K. boards of Butler, on the board of the Alberta Construction Association, and is a Past President of the Canadian Sheet Steel Building Institute, the Red Deer Construction Association and the Red Deer Golf and Country Club. Currently, Mr. Ward is a Director of the Alberta Metal Building Association.

 

R. Scot Rutherford, President & Chief Operations Officer
Mr. Rutherford joined Saunders Architect Limited in Regina, SK upon graduation from the Architectural Engineering Technology Program at S.T.I. in 1979. He worked at Saunders for 8 years on large institutional and commercial projects. During this period Scot gained extensive experience in the design, project management, contract administration, certification and consultant roles from both the design community and client perspectives. Scot then  moved east to work as a Project Administrator with one of the largest residential developers in Ontario, Minto Developments. He joined Scott Builders in 1991, first as a Project Manager and then moving on to be Operations Manager. Scot assists our clients with land acquisition and other construction requirements from Toronto, west to Victoria; with his primary focus in Alberta. In 2002 Scot became President and Chief Operating Officer for Scott Builders Inc. He also holds his Gold Seal Certification in Project Management.

 

Hans A.M. te Stroete, Vice President & Sales
Hans worked on a Scott Builders steel erection crew through University and then joined Scott Builders permanently shortly after graduation in 1980. His broad experience includes work as a Site Superintendent, Purchasing Manager, Project Manager and Chief Estimator. He has extensive design/build experience and has been responsible for design development, estimating and sales of many of the major Scott design/build projects for the past 20 years. He holds a Gold Seal Certificate in Construction Estimating and a B.Ed from the University of Alberta.

 

David L. Morrison, Vice President & General Manager - Edmonton
Dave joined Scott Builders Inc. in April 1994 after working with Butler Manufacturing (Canada) as a National Accounts Sales Manager and Regional Area Manager. Prior to joining Butler, he was with Altarctic Engineering and Construction and was responsible for Business Development.

 

 

Murray J. Cunningham, Vice President & General Manager - Red Deer
Murray obtained his Civil Engineering, Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Alberta in 1997 with technical electives in construction and in structural engineering. In 1999, he began managing the Scott Builders Inc. National Account Program and now manages the Red Deer operation. Murray also earned his Gold Seal in Project Management.

 

Bruce W. Gilbert, Vice President & General Manager - Calgary
Bruce brings extensive experience to Scott Builders Inc. he joined Scott from another Calgary Design/Build General Contractor where he was Vice President and General Manager for 5 ½ years. Prior to that, he spent 32 years with Dominion Construction Ltd. in various capacities, most recently as Operations Manager, Southern Alberta Division. Bruce has a strong design/build and construction management background with an in-depth knowledge of commercial, high-rise, warehousing and manufacturing, seniors’ housing and multi-family facilities both in Alberta and British Columbia.

 

Richard D. Graham, Vice President & General Manager - Owen Sound/Barrie
Upon graduating in 1972 from London’s Fanshawe College in Architectural Design, Richard joined his father’s construction business in Owen Sound. Richard’s responsibilities and position changed as the company grew to be the largest design/build firm in the region. He started as a draftsman and estimator and was later promoted to chief designer, sales manager, general manager and finally CEO. In July of 2008, Scott Builders Inc. and Clarence H. Graham Design & Construction reached an agreement where Scott Builders acquired Graham Construction and Richard joined the organization as Vice-President and General Manager of the Owen Sound Division.

 

Lyle A. Ball, Vice President & General Manager - Milton
Lyle brings over 30 years of construction experience to Scott Builders - most recently as an Owner/Operator of Grassmere Construction Ltd. of Tillsonburg, ON a Design/Build firm he founded in 1988. A graduate of Fanshawe College's Construction Technician Program and certified as a Project Manager in the Canadian Construction Associations GOLD SEAL Program, Lyle brings extensive experience to his new position in all facets of the business including a capability to work with clients from conception of their project to completion. Lyle is the past Chair of the Tillsonburg Industrial Commission and a current member of the Woodstock Economic Development Committee. He also served on the Canadian Builder Advisory Council of Butler Manufacturing.

 

Kevin W. Evans-CMA, Chief Financial Officer
Kevin brings 20+ years of senior management level experience to Scott Builders. His experience highlights an extensive Accounting and Information Technology background in the domestic and international oil & gas industry, and construction industry. Kevin is a key member of the management team directly responsible to the Partners for Accounting and Business Information functions company-wide. Kevin works closely with the accounting group to ensure that Project Managers and the construction group receive accurate project information on a timely basis.
