The winner of the widely recognized and coveted award, organized annually by the Chamber of Commerce, was officially announced at a Banquet attended by more than 300 local businesses held Oct. 19th/10 at the Red Deer College Arts Centre. Scott were named in the largest category of 50 and over employees.

Coming off a year when non-residential Construction Awards in the Red Deer area were considerably down,  the accomplishments of the Scott group in weathering a serious downturn by openly sharing  goals with all of the employees and  with everyone rolling up their sleeves,  was significant.   

 

From Project Managers to Site Superintendents to Accountants, everyone played a role in tracking down new business opportunities and taking a team approach to secure them.    

 

Strong supporters in the Community, Scott are diamond sponsors at the Festival of Trees, active supporters of the United Way (2009 Gold Award), plus a number of other Charities.

 

In 2008 the Company established a Scott Builders Community Giving Committee, funded by the Company, run by the employees and free to choose charities to help, whether financially or with time and materials.

 

Scott also operate out of Calgary and Edmonton offices and in 2008 embarked on an Ontario strategy and now have operations in Milton, Barrie and Owen Sound. Their 2009 volume achievements rank them amongst the Top 50 Contractors in Canada. A significant component to their success lies in the ability of each Branch to offer and take responsibility for turn-key construction offering a full line of Design and Construction Services.  

 

Formed in 1971 in Red Deer, employee ownership has been and continues to be a key factor in their success. Head office for the entire operation is in Red Deer, central to Alberta operations where the Company’s ability to competitively recruit outstanding Head Office staff has proven beneficial.
