Technical Manager




The Safety Advisor for Industrial Projects is responsible for the implementation of the health, safety and environmental program of Scott Builders as well as any client safety requirements specific to a site. This position provides support for the Site Superintendent regarding health, safety and environmental matters and coordinates health and safety program for employees, contractors and subcontractors.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (include but are not limited to):
  • Provide consistent leadership, guidance and mentoring in accordance with corporate values, goals, and objectives to fulfill safety program
  • Work with site management to ensure safety directives and guidance are communicated and implemented
  • Ensure corporate policies and procedures are adhered to at all times
  • Coordinate the orienting of site personnel and visitors in order that all persons understand and are committed to SBI and client standards
  • Organize and participate in safety meetings
  • Ensure compliance with OH&S regulations and guidelines
  • Conduct and participate in site safety audits
  • Conduct safety inspections at the work site
  • Conduct incident and accident investigations
  • Report all incidents, near misses, and accident investigations to the branch safety advisor
  • Compile site safety statistics
  • Liaises with external parties on matters concerning OH&S and/or EH&S
  • Record safety violations and make recommendations for corrections with follow up
  • Prepare and provide daily, weekly, and monthly planning and activity reports

  • Ability to pass a drug and alcohol test at any time
  • Advanced knowledge of Health and Safety Legislation
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively
  • Communicate clearly and influence others to follow safety regulations
  • Knowledge of construction and building practices
  • Current class 5 driver’s license


  • 3 to 5 years of safety construction experience
  • 2 to 5 years supervisory construction experience
  • Active NCSO certification
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills
